The Wallace Monument sits atop a hill near where William Wallace won his historic battle against the English in the Battle of Stirling Bridge. Inside the monument is a museum in his honour containing his broadsword (which is absolutely huge and shows how tall he must have been to have used it). There are lovely views from the top across the Ochill hills and towards Stirling Castle. But be aware that the climb to the top is up a very narrow winding staircase (and 246 steps). For anyone who is a fan of the movie Braveheart, this has to be on your must-see list.
