Once there, Ojai is extremely walkable. You won't mind the exercise and the spa is in the heart of the village.

The spa was built in the 1920s and offers 46 guest rooms that include private rooms, double lodge rooms, double cottage rooms and large triple cottages. The grounds are nice with plenty of palm trees and other foliage. The price includes the fitness program. Included are 16 optional fitness classes daily; hikes; three gourmet low calorie meals per day; snacks and beverages; an on-site registered nurse; evening activities; and wellness lectures; and complete use of all resort facilities.

Sunrise finds spa guests readying themselves for a brisk morning hike. If you've never experienced dawn in the desert, you're in for a real treat. Early mornings are especially lovely when the sun is rising. Pink, purple and magenta hues light the sky giving everything and everyone a rosy glow. Request that wake-up call, rub the sleep out of your eyes and don't miss those morning hikes!

Sixteen different classes geared for every fitness level are available each day. To achieve maximum results it is suggested that guests take one from each of these three: stretch, aerobic and resistance classes. The aquaerobics and stretching workouts are really fun!

Story/Tip

If you can, plan a trip in the spring when the orange groves in the nearby valley are in bloom. If you've never smelled orange blossoms you're in for a real treat. The fragrance is so powerful it practically carries you away. It is like ambrosia, a smell you'll never forget.
