The political capital of Malaysia

They call Putrajaya the DC of Malaysia. The prime minister's house is here, along with the largest convention center. The city was still under construction while I was there, but within 2 years, this place will be incredible.

Shangri La Hotel
Right in the heart of the 'D.C.' of Malaysia, the Shangri La property says class. Each room centers on a theme--palm, bamboo, aromatic herbs, and water plants. The rooms all have great views. Ground-floor rooms have little patios to have morning coffee on.

The Palm Hill restaurant has a daily lunch buffet with about 200 items on it. Western and Asian food are the norm. A huge dessert table awaits you. There's a stream running through the middle of the concourse. All in all, this hotel is the best place to stay while visiting the gorgeous city of Putrajaya.

Putrajaya Malaysia
The boat ride through the river was a treat. You pass directly behind the prime minister's house and the city mosque. With plans to make this city the hub of all political activity, Putrajaya is a wonder all its own. With bridges of gold and streets lined in palm trees, it's a wonderful sight in the middle of nowhere.
