Surprising Slovenia

An October 2004 trip to Lake Bled by tooth fairy

Quote: Beautiful, safe, and comfortable are good words to describe Lake Bled, the Park Hotel, and the surrounding countryside. The lake, with a little island in its center, is gorgeous. From our balcony, and better yet, from our bed, we could see the castle! This place is enchanting!

We were greeted and seated by the chef/owner and served by his charming wife, who suggested we order the "surprise" tasting menu. It was great! We had five courses, followed by sage grappa. The price, which was very reasonable, was another surprise.
