This part of the country is beautiful because you can see the contrast between Dubai and the east coast. You see the mountains and also you can see the Indian Ocean. This area is the best for snorkeling and diving. We visited the Fujairah Fort, right now is under restoration. Also, is the Fujairah Museum, where you can appreciate the relics, jewelry and life style back from the 16th centuries. Since we were in Fujairah we had the chance to see many little towns. Masafi, is popular for the Friday Market (opened everyday and is located along the mayor highway to go to Fujairah)mainly you can buy fruits and carpets. You need to bargain a lot in this market aim for almost 50% off the price you are asked, he will not let you go, just be firm in your price. Badiyah, is known mainly for its mosque, it is supposed to be the eldest one in the country. There is also a good cinema. Fujairah is a nice place to visit if you want to escape for a while from the busy city of Dubai. It is not too far is only 1 1/4 hours by car. Make sure you ask the front desk for directions how to get to Dubai because some exits do not have names. You can easily get lost in the Emirates. The maps sometimes do not match the actual street name. Actually, the Emirates is under a lot of construccion. This country is becoming very cosmopolitan. You definitely need a car to be able to explore the east coast of the Emirates. You can also take a bus from Dubai (25 durhams) but going back you need to take a taxi. It is better to rent a car so you are able to visit all the small towns around Fujairah.

Best Things About the Resort:
The swimming pool was on the 7th floor. The temperature of the water was controled so it was nice. The gym and the sauna were also good with all kind of exercise machines. Ladies had to use the gym at a different time than men. It also had a nice restaurant where you can enjoy some of the typical dishes from the Emirates. The manager and the receptionist of the resort were nice and gave us information about the places to go especially for New Year Eve we had a good time at a popular hotel near by and received a happy 2005.

Resort Experience:
The building does not look as nice on the outside as it is on the inside. All the RCI units are on the fifth floor. As soon as the elevator opens, you can see the difference. My unit was really nice and clean, with shiny tile floors and two big bathrooms and bedrooms. The furniture was also in good shape, and the apartment was a good size and nicely decorated. The kitchen was also good; it had all you need to prepare a quick meal. It was really confortable. It had a washer, but not a dryer. It did not matter, though, because the clothes got dry overnight. They cleaned the apartment every day and changed our towels. With anything you need, they were really happy to assist you. I liked this resort.
