Best Things About the Resort:
The bedroom was huge, as was the bathroom. The furishings were very nice, i.e. king-size, four-poster bed.
Resort Experience:
The unit itself was out of this world. However, the shower was advertisted as having "multiple shower heads"; this is true, but there was not enough water pressure to make them work correctly, so basically, they drooled. Upon telephoning the resort’s desk and asking about the water pressure, I was told that the water pressure on the entire island was very poor. So why, then, do they advertise this amenity? In addition, there was never enough hot water to handle the Jacuzzi tub and a hot shower. The plunge pool located on your balcony was a nice feature, but it was ICE COLD. Perhaps in the summer months, it would be great, but in January, the water was about 65 degrees. These are not heated.
The dishwasher had been removed for repair, which left a gaping, not very clean hole in the kitchen where it should have been. The resort did not have another to put in its place. The refrigerator’s ice-maker was in need of repair, which was accomplished after two telephone calls to the desk, asking for it to be repaired. This resort is located on the eastern side of the island. It is away from the tourist area. Taxi fare was at least $25-30 (one-way) from the resort to any tourist area restaurant or attraction. A rental car is an option; however, they drive on the opposite side of the road from us "crazy Americans," so be prepared for that adventure in itself.
If you stay here, make sure that you grocery shop in the tourist area stores. The nearest grocery store, which the resort runs a shuttle to, is very much for the LOCALS! Finding American-type food, i.e. pretzels, was impossible. Liquor, except rum, on the island is EXPENSIVE. The resort restaurants are expensive, even for lunch. The famous "Crane Beach" was BEAUTIFUL. There is NOTHING close to this resort. But for the amount of RCI points that were used to stay here, I don't believe it was worth it.
