Tango's Restaurant, down by the high-rise hotels and across the street from Allegro, was wonderfully charming. My friend took a tango lesson from a very talented young couple, Carlos and Ariana. They will be competing internationally next summer in Buenos Aires. They personally saw to arranging a front-and-center table for us. The sales staff from Allegro, overseeing a birthday party, enjoyed appetizers and drinks with us. We were pleased when they joined us at our table and stayed to enjoy the show with us. Everyone was very accommodating, and I would highly recommend the Argentinean beef. It is the best!
We went on the banana bus and were joined by three couples from La Cabana. We were all about the same age and hit it off right from the start. Everyone had a blast, and the driver and "banana boy" were great sports. My favorite spots were the local neighborhood bar and one called Carlos & Charlie's. I went to dance, and it was non-stop at both of these places. On the way back to the hotel, I decided it was time to try some pole-dancing. My friend was in shock, and everyone else was cheering me on. The next evening, we got in town to go dancing again and met up with the bus, and we were invited to finish the run, which was C&C’s again. What a blast! A local asked me to dance, and we danced for an hour. It was the best time I have had in a long time.
Quick Tips:
We attended the Sunday morning orientation at La Cabana, listened to the presentation, and chose a few things to do. Most activites were discounted - by purchasing at this presentation, versus calling directly to book.
Best Way To Get Around:
Buses and minibuses are definitely the best way to go. Most drivers were willing to let us know when our stop was approaching. The only downfall is that the last bus back out to the hotels is at midnight, but a taxi is only if you really want to stay out. It's nice that all the rates are locked in and are the same, no matter which taxi you use.
