The Antrim Coast

A November 2000 trip to County Antrim by El_Viajero

This was an organized tour from Dublin to Belfast, continuing on through the glens of County Antrim. Travelling along the coast road, we stopped in beautiful seaside towns on our way to the Giant's Causeway. Our last stop was at the Bushmill's Distillery for some Irish liquid fire.

Overview

The glens of Antrim are gorgeous green valleys that roll down to the rough-watered Irish sea. The Giant's Causeway is an amazing collection of octagonal-shaped rock formations that reaches into the sea and is like nowhere else I've ever been.

For Scotch/Whiskey fans. You must visit the Bushmill's Distillery for a few drops of smooth and powerful Irish single malt.

Best Way To Get Around:

An organized tour via mini-coach/bus is a great way to see this area. Not preoccupied with driving on the left-hand side (for most of us) and able to see the richness of this land, the visitor is handsomely rewarded by County Antrim.
