Sylhet is a unique place where you'll find miles of plain land and small mountains where tea is grown.

Road to Jaflong
Notable Places:

1. Jaflong: Jaflong is situated at the border between Bangladesh and India. It's just below the mountain range. The road to Jaflong is a treat. Although Jaflong lost much of its beauty recently, due to overcrowding, you will find it refreshing after the hastiness of city life.

Quick Tips:

1. Take help from someone who understand both Bangla and Sylheti. People of Sylhet use their own language, which is not very easy to understand by Bangalees.

2. It would be better if you arrange a car/microbus. Rickshaws (non-mechanized vehicles) are very, very scarce.

Best Way To Get Around:

You can go to Sylhet from Dhaka by bus, train, and air.

Air is the most comfortable way but, naturally, the most expensive.

Bus journey is not very comfortable. The road is narrow. Although drivers are very capable, their driving may scare you if you are not accustomed to life in the fast lane. If you are an F1 fan, you might wonder what these drivers will do in the fast cars.

Train is the best way to go. Take the morning train, rather than the evening one.

You have quite good quality hotels in Sylhet. Hotel Palash is the best one.
