There is beautiful scenery and villages with memorable architecture at every turn. Language is not an issue. There are very comprehensive tour guides available for your own self-guided tours, and they give so much detail about history, which is fascinating. The old hotels and churches and other buildings are wonderful to see and photograph, especially with the fall backdrop. We enjoyed it enough to return in spring, when there are other options, like birdwatching, right near the resort and at a place northeast a few minutes drive.
