Getaway III to Spa City

"Spa City," or Hot Springs, Arkansas, is a town where the idea of relaxation is best described as body and mind healing. Beautiful scenery and a cozy atmosphere create a relaxing feeling as the natural hot mineral springs work on your body. Hot Springs offers tourist attractions like tours of the Ozark Mountains, an amusement park, and a water park for the family vacationers.

But my wife and I just love the atmosphere for the people who just want to get a way from hustle and bustle of the metropolis. We went to Hot Springs, Arkansas, to relax and enjoy the body-refreshing massages and spa treatments Spa City is known internationally for.

Quick Tips:

We recommend getting away and being a little selfish by making sure you get a message a day and throwing in a spa package for the body and mind refresher we sometimes need after the hustle and bustle of reality. Buckstaff Bath House is good spot to get started.

Best Way To Get Around:

It is a small town, so the best way to travel in town is by car. Central Avenue is the main street in Hot Springs, and you can get to most of the spas and shopping areas from Central Avenue.

Best Things About the Resort:
The lodge is very clean and rests on the shores of Lake Hamilton. It offers activities throughout the week and a very quiet atmosphere.

Resort Experience:
The resort sits on the outskirts of town and is a perfect quiet spot for the romantic getaway. We were put into a lodge. The lodge is large and nicely laid out. Your backyard looks out onto the lake and is, again, QUIET. The full kitchen and fireplace make it easy to sleep in and have a very nice evening with loved ones. I recommend you ask for the lodge!

This restaurant offers the best sandwiches in the area and a very cozy atmosphere. It also offers free wireless Internet. It is a great deal when you are relaxing and getting away, but it also allows you to cheat a little by checking on your finances. Oh, did I say that they have great deli sandwiches, too?

Gentlemen, if you want to increase the action, I recommend you purchase a spa treatment for your love. And if you can splurge a little, get 2 days of spa treatments--all the better for you. You can’t go wrong with the massages and spa treatments for you loved one. Believe me, it pays back more than the couple of dollars you spent. And while you are at it, throw in a day or two of massages for yourself.

Hot Springs, Ark., is the place to be during the off-season of December. If you want a little more entertainment, go to Hot Springs during the track season, which starts in late January.
