Las Vegas

A November 2004 trip to Las Vegas by trod

Quote: Recently went to Las Vegas for the first time and stayed at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino. This was a business trip, but I had plenty of time to check out the sights.

Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino

Hotel | "Rio All Suites Hotel & Casino"

The hotel, overall, was nice, but not great or anything like the Venetian on The Strip. The Rio is located a few blocks off the strip, so it is a little inconvenient. However, they provide shuttles every 15 minutes or so to Harrah’s, so it really wasn't a problem for me.

My room at the Rio was nice, but could have used some cosmetic work, such as new carpeting. I found the staff to be very pleasant and encountered no negative issues during my stay. Compared to some of the other hotels in Vegas, the Rio felt a little too much like a glitzy casino hotel. They do have an interesting free show that is worth checking out.

N9NE Steakhouse

The n9ne steakhouse is an upscale restaurant, high on atmosphere and prices. I had the filet mignon at $39, and it was very good. Sides are extra. With a beer and some wine, the price per person was probably about $70 without dessert. It you like a good steak and don't mind paying for it, this is a good place.
