A November 2004 trip to French Riviera by rossiste

Quote: Nice, cool, sunny weather in November. There is a lot of waste-burning, which causes a lot of hazy smoke this time of year. This is also the vacation month for the locals, and many shops and museums are closed.

The condo was very clean and comfortable, with a very friendly and helpful staff. After a horrible hotel experience in Paris, this was a welcome sight! The condo we had was a two-bedroom, two-bath with a pull-out couch and small kitchenette. Club Mougins is part of the Sunterra company.

This is actually a chocolate shop with a small cafe. They serve fabulous African-style hot chocolate. It’s very thick and rich. Their chocolates are divine. There is also a location in Nice, but it was closed when we tried to go. This shop, although this was off-season, was closed by 1:30pm.

The staff was friendly, wonderful, and helpful--it was worth having them explain the menu. The atmosphere was charming and relaxed. We were there during the off-season, so reservations may be needed in high travel season. The food was great, and there was a large selection on the prix-fixe menu.

This was a totally charming small crepe café. They had large selection of savory and sweet crepes to choose from and a French-to-English glossary in the front of the menu to help you look up the ingredients. We ordered off the prix-fixe menu, which included a salad, a savory crepe, and a dessert crepe. The crepes were delicious. They also had a large selection of omelets as well. The prix-fixe menu had a large variety to choose from. It was actually a tough decision! Everything sounded wonderful. The husband and wife owners of the restaurant were charming, witty, and sweet. They were helpful with any questions we had. The café itself was tiny and cozy. This was not a q...Read More
