An October 2004 trip

Quote: World's End State Park certainly looks like its name suggests -- with views of the Endless Mountains stretching into the horizon and its location in a county with one stop light and a population of 6,556 (2000 Census).
The visitors' area is very pleasant, with the gurgling creek and picnic benches set out under trees. We were there in fall, during peak foliage time, and the lack of crowds was amazing. Yes, the Poconos (about 80 miles away) are beautiful, but for peace and solitude, we would choose this place over any area in the Poconos, anytime.

Canyon Vista is also easily accessible and is on Cold Run Road. Though it is not off the road, there is a handicap access ramp. The Loyalsock Creek and the valley it is in look awesome from the top, but PA 154 cuts an ugly swath through all that natural beauty. There is a little rock garden on the other side of the road that older children might enjoy.
High Rock Trail is located just off PA 154, a few feet from the visitors' center area. This trail is only one mile, but it's quite difficult, with a gain in altitude of several hundred feet. The High Rock lookout point and High Rock Falls are your rewards.
