Mt. Everest, the roof of the world, is situated in eastern Nepal, bordering Chinese-occupied Tibet. The beauty of the Himalayan range and the world's longest glacier are the highlights of the area.
The area lies in the Alpine region, so the visitor needs to have some experience of previous walking. The feature of journey includes the visit to Sherpa village and the brave Sherpa, people famous for climbing and taking people over the mountaintop, are friendly people. The famous Sagar-Matha National Park, listed as a World Nature Heritage Site by UNESCO, makes the surrounding area more attractive. The most remarkable place is the Namchhe Bazaar, which is located at an altitude of 3,500m, which can be reached quite easily by taking a 45-minute flight passing through the Himalayan chain to Lukla, and then walking two days through the Sherpa settlement. Namchha Bazaar is the gateway to the Everest Base Camp, a gathering place for all the climbers, trekkers, and backpackers.
Another attraction close to Namchhe is Khumjumg Valley. Khumjung Valley is home to many Mount Everest summiteers and to the fertile land. You will be able to experience the extraordinary cultures of the brave Sherpa climbers, who have conquered Everest for decades. Hillary school, established by Sir Edmond Hillary (the first hero to conquer Mt. Everest), is also located in Khumjung Valley. The altitude here gets to be 3,900m from the sea level. It takes 16 days to complete the Everest Base Camp Trek. It's very adventurous to be at the lap of the superstar of the Himalayan opera, that is, at the base of Mt. Everest.
