The Strip, of course. Also, we could walk to the shops across the street in the Aladdin -- I believe it's called the Desert Passage. There are great restaurants and bars in this enclosed mall and also unique boutiques, as well as plenty of action going on everywhere. At one point, we could hear thunder, and all of a sudden, it began to rain from the ceiling into a pond in the center of the mall. Awesome.

Best Things About the Resort:
The Carriage House was an excellent place to stay. We were there in mid-August, and the weather was perfect. It is located about two blocks off the Strip, and that is the best thing about the resort. After hours of casino-hopping and shopping, it is a relief to return to peace and quiet. We loved staying at the Carriage House. One excellent feature is the restaurant, Joey Bistro, which is on the top floor of the resort. They have very good food, a lounge with a piano bar, and best of all, when you're finished, you just take the elevator down to your unit. No driving or cab necessary. Ahhhh, life is good! The units were very clean, with daily maid service, and the staff was great. We saw "O" at the Bellagio -- AWESOME -- went for a Gondola ride at he Venetian, and toured Lake Mead on a paddle boat called the Desert Princess, with a stop- over at the Hoover Dam. Lunch was served on the boat, and the trip was excellent, well worth the time and cost. Vegas is great, and so was the Carriage House. OR, if you want to be out a little farther, The Cliff's at Peace Canyon is a beautiful, Gold Crown resort, located about 20 minutes from the Strip. They will shuttle you back and forth to the Strip. Take your pick -- they are both terrific.

Resort Experience:
Vegas is like a magical world. There are so many different types of people that just sitting on the corner, waiting for a bus, is an experience. All the "glamor and glitz" is so exciting, not to mention the shows and food. Oh, yes, Vegas is a spot not to be missed. One only has to be there to realize how laid-back our hometowns are.

Before attending the performance of "O" in the Bellagio, we made reservations at FIX, the restaurant within the hotel. We were seated immediately and were treated as though we were the only people present. We were served our drinks immediately, and they were of excellent quality. The wait people were very professional and courteous. They actually smiled when you asked them a question. Our dinners (there were four of us) consisted of filet mignon, Crown-roasted rack of lamb, chicken of some type, and blackened salmon. We all shared a taste of each others' meals in order to sample these items. I can honestly say that everything was superb. A little pricey, but well worth it.
