It had a down-home atmosphere and a friendly staff.

Resort Experience:
The Kingfisher is not the place to go if you are looking for elegance, but the perfect location if you are a fisherman. You literally walk from the parking lot onto Garden City pier. The resort was clean and the staff was friendly, but the place could use a bit of sprucing up. The parking lot is very small and there is only one space per unit.

The kitchen was well stocked with basic cooking utensils. We received a nice discount on our fishing fee at the pier.

Very spacious unit--able to house large families.

Resort Experience:
We were in Bear Lake during the week of 9/11. This was the week after Labor Day, and the resort was dead. The staff had said that all the units were filled during Labor Day week, but that there were only two or three families present while we were there. The weather had also literally turned from summer to winter overnight, and the lake was empty of boats and skiers. The staff was polite but not very available. I would recommend this for a summer resort only.
