We had a wonderful, narrated, 3-hour cruise on the Hudson River one afternoon.
A walking tour of lower Manhattan on Saturday morning was really great. We rode the subway with the others in our group, to Ground Zero. . .our first major sightseeing stop.
We were lucky to get good seats to "42nd Street" on Broadway for Saturday evening! The show is closing in January 2005.
Quick Tips:
Fly into La Guardia rather than JFK, it's much easier. If you can, book your shuttle to your hotel ahead of time. .you can also book "walking tours" ahead, as well as tickets for the Empire State. . .the famous lookout spot, and you can book Hudson River cruises, too!
Walking in Times Square, be prepared for lots of PEOPLE ON THE STREETS! Day, night - 24/7!
We found only one place in our area to get Online, and it served its purpose, but it was not much to our liking -- have to watch your purses closely in there!
Best Way To Get Around:
Walking is fine, do have to watch your step. Lots of people everything. . .every which way!
The subway was fine. Well lighted, and no problems at all! You just have to know WHERE you are going, it's not hard!
