Watch the playful antics of the animals at the Zoo. Tour a floating battleship museum. Explore a bustling old world food market, antique shops or historic 5- & 10-cent store. Visit one of the many museums. Listen to the sounds of the Philharmonic Orchestra...or the songs of the birds in the nature preserve.

Quick Tips:

Begin your visit with a stop at the Buffalo Visitor Center. They will be able to provide you with maps, brochures, and schedules for upcoming events. Attraction | "Buffalo City Hall Observation Tower"

At the center of downtown, City Hall is one of the country's most outstanding Art Deco masterpieces. Take the elevator to the 25th floor, walk up three flights to enjoy the spectacular views of Lake Erie and the city from 330 feet. Kids will love to see people that look like ants!

Relive millions of years of natural history at the Buffalo Museum of Science. The museum maintains a collection that covers the spectrum from anthropology to zoology. In September 1998, an exhibit on ancient Egypt opened, and will be on display for a minimum of five years. The exhibit uses personal histories of real mummies to recreate the life and death for an average man in a remarkable civilization.

Tifft Nature Preserve is a 264-acre habitat for environmental education and conservation. The Preserve features five miles of hiking trails, a self-guided nature and fitness trail, and a 75-acre freshwater cattail marsh. Man-made lakes attract wildlife throughout the year.

Wild plants and animals abound throughout the year. Birds, especially are attracted to its wetlands, near Lake Erie's coastline. The freshwater cattail marsh teems with wildlife during the summer. Tracks in snow give clues to animal behavior in winter.
