Grand Pacific Palisades Resort

Hotel | "Grand Pacific Palisades"

We stayed on the bottom floor of a three-floor resort. Most units have an ocean view, but ours didn't. We had a large one-bedroom (they have two sizes of one-bedroom units.) It included a full kitchen with everything I needed for the week: TV, VCR, DVD (they rented movies on sight), stereo, and a balcony with chairs. Our unit had a bath with shower and a separate walk-in shower with an adjustable shower head. Outside our unit was a gym and a family pool. The pool was heated and the spa was very warm. Next to the family pool was a child's water play place. It was cold! The water was not heated, so we could not use it. Next to that was a playground with a very nice park-style area for the kids...Read More

Sammy's Woodfire Pizza is located on Palomar Airport Road and I-5. There is an outstanding wood-fired crust with many specialty pizzas to choose from. It was recommended to us by the resort and was very good. We tried the garlic shrimp (very garlicky), and the kids had regular cheese pizza. The bread was to die for and so was the shrimp artichoke dip. This is a must-eat lunch location.

Museum of Making Music

Attraction | "History of the Music Museum"

Quote:
Located across the street from the Grand Pacific Palasades is the History of Music Museum. It was $5 for adults and $3 for kids. It is very quiet and hidden if you do not know it is there. We went just to burn some time and found it was good for hours of fun and entertainment. You enter through a gift shop, and it is divided into era's. The items inside show how the instruments evolved over the years. They have interactive displays that play music from the era. The adults loved the old videos that showed the evolution of rock, from The Beetles through MTV's latest. The last room was the kids room. They have hooked up several instruments to headphones so the kids can play and have fun witho...Read More

Legoland California

Attraction | "Legoland Theme Park"

Quote:
The theme is that the park is made with legos. They have themed lands, like Dinoland with one of the bigger rollercoaters, a bone dig, a balloon sling shot... MidEval land with horse jousting (a kid ride), a show, and a huge play yard with slides, rope crawls, and more. Miniland USA depicts major cities from around the USA and has actual working cars and boats to steer on the tracks. AND MORE. We went in October, so the hours were cut down. It was closed Monday and Tuesday, and when it was open, it was from 9am to 5pm. We were there at opening and we were there as it closed. We needed at least 1 more hour to see the entire park. I would suggest getting the 2-day pass just to keep the park leis...Read More
