A Week in Barbados

An October 2004 trip to Barbados by Vern's Travels

Quote: I have heard a lot about Barbados, mostly all good. The weather was beautiful, the beach was nice but I can't say that it is highly recommended. I did take this trip with my 2 year old so I wasn't able to enjoy myself to the fullest.

This resort is geared toward relaxation hence your own private pool option. There IS construction of a new building taking place as well as construction to beautify the landscaping. They start promptly at 8AM. It didn't bother me too much since I was up anyway with my 2 year old; however Friday was extremely loud. We stayed in building 3 on the 4th floor. Great view!! This was one of our favorite places to eat. Kids under 12 eat free. Not too bad since it is so expensive on the island. This place is open 24 hours. Several menu choices. Seafood, Chicken, Burger, Salads, etc. I had the pepper steak with veg and potato (apx $17US) the fillet (apx $25US), Mahi Mahi (apx 17US).

Restaurant

Quote:
This was a local favorite; however, I did not care for it too much. We went for the Sunday buffet. Consisted of local Barbadian cusine with dessert. Many local people were eating there and seemed to enjoy the food. Many out of towners had mixed feelings. If you are a picky eater this may not be for you. If you are adventurous, go for it. You will need a taxi to reach this restaurant. It is located on the west coast of the island.
