Yakima Area Arboretum

An April 2001 trip to Yakima by M_Shin

The Yakima Area Arboretum is a collection of over 2,000 species of woody plants on 46 acres of land. Other collections include: Butterfly, gardens, Herbarium, Native Plants, Perennials, Wetlands, and more. Be sure to bring along some bottled water, sunscreen, and some company to make the experience more enjoyable.

The best places to visit at the Arboretum are the display gardens, especially during the spring and summer seasons. Everything is in bloom and there is a wide variety of colors to see.

Quick Tips:

I would recommend bringing your bottle of water and sunscreen. You could get a sunburn quickly after you have noticed how long you have been out in the sun. Also, bring your camera so you can capture memories for a lifetime.

Best Way To Get Around:

The best way to get around the Arboretum is to walk around and enjoy the sites. There is a limited amount of parking spaces, so bring a friend or family members along with you, you will be glad that you did.

Attraction | "A walk through beauty"

The Arboretum is a wonderfully maintained collection of all sorts of trees, plants, and flowers. It’s a great way to get some fresh air while learning about vegetation. You would not get bored going more than once. There are several different birds and insects to see and hear. Bring your bottled water and sunscreen, as you would not want to get a sunburn walking around in such beauty.
