The centre of the world

A September 2004 trip to Jerusalem by DZohar

To introduce one of the most fascinating cities in the world, which in medieval maps, was often placed at the centre of the universe...

  • 4 reviews
The OLD CITY with Jewish, Christian, and Moslem holy places.
The NEW CITY with museums, markets, shopping malls, the university, and Parliament (Knesset).

Quick Tips:

Bring good walking shoes, a hat, and sunglasses. Summers are warm and dry, while winters cool and rainy. (Jerusalem lies on the boundary between the Mediterranean and desert climates, so it gets a bit of each.)

Best Way To Get Around:

Bus service is good, but it does not run Friday evening to Saturday after sunset.
There are no trains yet(under construction).
Taxis are available at all times, but are expensive.
Walking is your best bet.
