An August 2004 trip to Florence by RockWitch

Sette Santi

Hotel

Quote:
This is a fabulous and friendly hostel that is cozy and not too far from anything, yet far enough to be really cheap. The hostel is in a converted convent and is attached to the beautiful Sette Santi church. The rooms have beautiful big windows that allow the breeze to cool the room. You can get private bathrooms as well.

Da Pepe's

Restaurant

Quote:
Da Pepe's is a true Italian restaurant. Very few tourists ever venture into this smallish restaurant. If you're not careful, you may sit at the boss's table and be asked (told) to move to another, but it is all part of the charm of this fabulous place. The food is exceptional and very Italian.

Galleria dell'Accademia

Attraction | "Accademia"

Quote:
The Accademia hosts Michelangelo's sculpture of David, a truly spectacular piece of art. It also hosts a variety of his sculptures entitled Slave. These are very moving pieces of work. While visiting, we managed to visit on a Tuesday night when entry was free, saving nearly €10. This is a must-see for any art and history buff and highly recommended for everyone else as well.
