Overview

Berjaya Map
Tioman provides an excellent environment for kids. Because of the reef offshore the bays are calm and perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The resort has an excellent house reef (around Renggis Island) that can be reached in less than a five-minute swim. Resident reef tip sharks, clown fish (all called Nemo!), and extensive coral can easily seen when snorkeling.

The resort itself has two swimming pools and two slide pools at the resort and another pool at the suites. Monkeys are easily spotted from the roadside and it is great to watch the babies playing chase through the vines.

Enjoy a relaxing cocktail at the beach and watch the sunset over Renggis Island.

Quick Tips:

Take a torch as power may be lost (it wasn't on our trip). You will need good walking shoes as jungle treks are a fantastic experience - you can trek from village to village (there are no connecting roads). Take insect repellent and good sun screen - mozzies are a fact of life!

Best Way To Get Around:

To get around the resort there are a number of options:
1. Walk - nothing is far away (see map)
2. The resort provides a small bus for getting around the resort and a shuttle bus to take you from the main resort to the Tioman Suites.
3. To get to the nearest village (Tekek) taxis (little mini vans) can be caught at the main gate - the cost is US.50 round trip.
4. To get to other villages boat is the only option - speedboat trips start from around US one way. Boats can be chartered from US per day.
5. Bikes can be hired at the resort from US per hour

Attraction | "2 Stroke Penalty for Hitting Lizards!"

The course is set into the hillside on one side and hugs the sea on the other. Consequently there are lots of opportunities for lost balls in the jungle and the sea! The greens are well kept and the course well marked. Golf buggies are compulsory, which is just as well, as the course is well spread out and the sun is hot. The setting is magical - there are monkeys and monitor lizards all over the course and play often has to stop while they go about their business.
