Because we traded into VDP (we do not own there), our one bedroom had no view and little light. It was clean and comfortable and had two bathrooms. There were two TVs with cable and the kitchen area had pots, pans, china, and silver for four. The floor thoughout the unit is stone, but it was slipery when wet.
There is a grocery store at the hotel; sometimes it was well-stocked, other times, it was not. There are two pools on the property, one was for a more mature crowd, the other had afternoon games and volleyball that was geared toward singles. The hot tub was big, but was very crowded with singles with a drink in hand. We hung out at the beach, which was very peaceful. At night, there is music, and, if your room faces the pool, you will hear the music - it's pretty loud.
The staff was very nice and upbeat. Of course, everyone wants you to buy a timeshare. We went on their presentation and decided not to buy. We own one timeshare and for us, one is enough. We didn't feel we were being pressured, but, word to the wise, if you feel you are not in the market for a timeshare, pass on the presentation.
The food at the hotel was good, not great. Stay away from the luncheon buffet - the food sits out in the sun too long. The only day I ate from the buffet was the day we were leaving, and I got sick on the way to the airport. Nightly, there are theme buffets - Mexican, Seafood, and more. For the money, you can do better at a restaurant.
VDP is a nice resort. We made friends on the beach, and we are going back for Christmas '04.
