Labor Day week at Lake Tahoe

A September 2004 trip to Lake Tahoe by ilovehawaii

We spent Labor Day week at Lake Tahoe. Hiking and biking trails were abundant and our family really enjoyed them. Other activities were lacking but so were the crowds. The lake is beautiful!

Best Things Nearby:
The north end Lake Tahoe is about 15 minutes away, South Lake Tahoe City is nearly an hour away by car.

Best Things About the Resort:
Nice, charming rooms (heed the descriptions warning- they are SMALL but lovely), beautiful grounds with ponds and streams, 5 hot tubs, and a big swimming pool.

Resort Experience:
The resort is wonderful! The staff was nice, the grounds beautiful and nice rooms. We visited for a week over Labor Day. Other than hiking, we didn't find much to do though. We didn't find any great restaurants, we liked a local pizza place though, Tahoe Pizza. We actually left a day early because we were bored with the area. We recommend Tahoe for a long weekend rather than an entire week, at least in the fall.
