There's a lot to see in Ireland. The country is only about the size of West Virginia, but its stunning land and seascapes and its rich human history are a powerful draw to visitors. The best way to see Ireland is by car. Granted that Ireland's rail transport is completely adequate by any standard and superior to what passes for rail transport in the U.S., the places you want to see, with the exception of Dublin, are out and away from the main thoroughfares.
