I was not disappointed going back to Kauai for a 2nd time. This time was even better than the time before!

Best Things Nearby:
You are in Princeville. What more could you want? You look out to see mountains everywhere and a new waterfall every morning.

Best Things About the Resort:
The location! You are right outside the town of Hanalei with great little shops and dining and only 30 minutes to my favorite beach Ke'e that is either at the beginning/end of the road!

We were confirmed into a 1 bedroom unit that was very spacious! The bathroom is huge with a jacuzzi tub and a safe in the closet ( very convenient.)

Ceiling fans in the bedroom and living/dining room keep you cool. Being in Princeville you always have a good breeze so air conditioning is not a necessity.

The kitchen was a good size with an ice maker so we didn't have to buy ice for our cooler.

The pool and hot tub were wonderful! The pool is a great size and has an area where it's a natural sandy bottom. I have never seen anything like that.

Resort Experience:
Driving from Lihue towards Princeville you will see mountains to your right and the Pacific Ocean to your left. I know I would never get tired of this view.

In Princeville you have 2 restaurants, grocery store, a couple of stores, as station and ice cream palor.

Kauai is an island to get away from it all. If you are looking for night life and lots and lots of activities, this is not the place for you, but if you like hanging out on a different beach everyday and relaxing, then this is your vacation! We loved being able to hang out on our favorite beaches and then go straight to dinner and then back to our unit to relax.

Kauai Backcountry Adventures offers a great activity of tubing down irrigation ditches of a non-active sugar cane farm. This sugar cane farm is no longer producing sugar cane but the ditches still have water running through them! This is a great way to see areas of Kauai that you normally wouldn't be able to see. Rain Forests, valleys, tunnels!

You are outfitted with gloves and helmets with lights attached. You can rent water shoes or bring your own. The water is chilly but I wore my bathing suit and it wasn't too bad. Make sure to have an underwater camera because you will get wet. You are bussed up with the rest of your group and get a history of the company and how they were started, as well as an overview of Hawaiian history.

This was fun. We tubed for about an hour going through 5 tunnels. You can go fast and slow depending on the current. After tubing, a picnic lunch is provided and you can go swimming at a natural swimming hole!

Tunnels Beach

Activity

I recommend if you want to go to Tunnels Beach go early! There is not ample parking, there are 2 roads that you can park on and then at Haena Beach Park which is a little hike. You are not able to park on the street here so get there early!

This is a great beach to hang out on. Good wide beach for walking and the sand is very pebbly. It has great beach rocks, I just started collecting them after hanging out on this beach.

Now the snorkeling! This was on of the best snorkeling spots we had visited on the island. Huge Unicorn fish! Great coral. The water goes from about 5 feet deep to over 50 feet deep. You will see a lot of scuba divers out here. Swim out to the deeper water and swim on the edge and see great coral, deep tunnels (this is where the beach gets its name) and all kinds of fish from small to large!

Ke'e Beach

Activity

Ke'e Beach is my all time favorite beach on the island of Kauai. You have the Napili coast to your left and all the chickens and roosters you could want! This is a very calm beach due to the waves breaking on the reef, so it is a perfect location for small children.

The snorkeling here is always good along the reef, the water is not too deep, 10 feet or so. Now to see the turtles you will need to be adventerous and swim over the rocks or walk. At the right time during high tide you can swim over the rocks, you will not have much room between your body and the rocks, so having gloves on so as not to touch anything and to have a piece of mind.

Once you get over the rocks the scenerary is gorgeous! It takes your breath away! Turtles come up out of nowhere and swim next to you! My only warning is that you are now in their house so don't chase them, try and touch them or feed them! Watch in awe from a distance. We had turtles from every size and they are so graceful gliding through the water.
