Best Things Nearby:Walt Disney World, Outlet shopping Best Things About the Resort:Many pools, hot tubs, activity center, pool bars with entertainment. Resort Experience:Nice resort with a lot of activities on site. Plenty of room in the unit and clean. We were on the third floor with no elevator. This made if difficult when we had our older family members visit. The size of the unit was good for family get-togethers. Everyone enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. We had dinner in the restaurant on site and it was okay. We had seen an ad for entertainment that night and it turned out to be a one singer playing a guitar in the small bar area. Blue Spring State Park

Attraction | "Blue Springs State Park"

Quote:
This state park is north of Orlando, a few miles from Deland. It probably takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get there from the traditional Orlando park area. Best to go there in the wintertime when there are the largest number of manatees at the Springs. Also earlier in the morning or late afternoon provides a better chance of seeing the manatees. This is an opportunity to see the natural part of Florida - enjoy a stroll on the walkway along the Springs. It is a nice break from the busy parks in Orlando. While you are in the area check out the Sugar Mill Restaurant for brunch (Ponce de Leon Blvd, DeLeon Springs) There are built in griddles in the tables so you grill your own pancakes...Read More

Bok Tower Gardens

Attraction

Quote:
This location takes you south of Orlando for a bit of a drive. The Bok Tower is a 200-foot tower of marble and stone. Music is played from the bells in the tower every half hour. The surrounding gardens contain a large variety of plants and provide a quiet place to sit and meditate as well as take a nice stroll. There is a visitor center on site with exhibits and information. Guided tours are available. Admission price $4. Since we visit Florida often, we like getting away from the busy Orlando area and enjoy this spot.
