Resort Experience:
We reserved this unit as we wanted to spend a week helping our daughter settle into an apartment in W. Palm Beach for the school year. We were more than well-satisfied with what the Dover House offered us and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Our clean, nicely-furnished one-bedroom/one-bathroom unit was an end unit overlooking the garden/pool area. Because we had a second-floor unit, we could see the ocean when we stepped outside our front door. There was a nice area with two grills and several tables with chairs by the fountains in the middle of the resort.
Although the resort is fairly small, management's attention to detail and satisfaction of the visitors is outstanding. The resort's location is the best, as it is very close to good restaurants and to the many downtown shops (most upscale, but there are also malls to which one can drive.) We enjoyed driving the ocean route to places we visited and did not meet heavy traffic on it.
The beach is across the street from the resort, but it is a simple two-lane to cross, with a nice path through some lush greenery to the beach itself. There are many chaise lounges there to stretch out on. There is a pool house for changing and restrooms next to the pool area behind Dover House, and we enjoyed several days by the pool as well.
All in all, you can't go wrong if you're looking for a very pleasant place to stay. If you're hunting for an action-packed resort, this should probably not be your choice, but if your desire is a well-run, lovely haven by the Atlantic, this is a good pick!
