The old Olympic stadium is very close to the centre of Athens and a few minutes away from the presidential buildings. It is right next to a major road, so we could easily find it.
The ruins of ancient Olympia (a site with temples) were excavated by the German archaeologist Ernst Curtius from 1875-1881.
