An August 2004 trip to Key Largo by bobrci
Quote: Enjoyed the Keys and had fun fishing, snorkeling, and visiting Key West. Good restaurants. The mosquitos are vicious! The Anchorage had a huge puddle in the parking lot that guests had to walk through. It was sometimes up to 6 inches deep! Definitely a sub-standard timeshare compared to other RCI resorts.
Hotel
The rooms are spacious except for the small bathrooms. Some of the dishes in the cabinet were dirty - an unpleasant discovery. The sofa and chair in the living room are upholstered in a plastic-backed fabric which gets very uncomfortable in the heat and humidity. Room air conditioners keep the rooms comfortable.
Beware of mosquitos when you go outside - they are vicious. Even a walk to the parking lot and loading a few things in the car results in a mosquito attack, and a car full of mosquitos.
Overall we enjoyed our trip to the Keys, but we could definitely do without the mosquitos. As for the resort, the staff was always friendly and helpful, but we don't intend to stay at another resort without one of the higher ratings (Gold Crown, International Rating, etc.)
