A July 2004 trip to Baileys Harbor by zinthar
Quote: My wife needed a break from the heat and the mundane, and I needed a break from work, so off to Door County, WI, we went with our 13-month-old twin boys in tow. Door County is a great place to relax!

The living area was nicely decorated and the fireplace was a huge, stone delight that ran up the wall all the way to the vaulted ceiling. Though we didn't use it, the unit came with plenty of firewood for a week. The kitchen included just about everything you'd have at home except, if you wanted a griddle or a larger item, you had to get it from the front desk. The unit also included two decks overlooking a great section of woods. One was the main deck off the living area and the other was a private balcony off the master suite.
The staff were very accommodating and were very nice and pleasant to us and our kids. When we checked in they called me by name and even verified that they had two cribs and two high chairs in the unit already for our kids. We would definitely go back!!

Restaurant
As I said in the beginning, the food is just ok. We had the Saturday breakfast buffet the morning after we arrived and it consisted of the very basics of a breakfast buffet. Nothing really stood out as great. Just average food served in chafing dishes which had been there a little too long. We had dinner there a few nights later hoping it would be better but, alas, it wasn't so. My steak was akin to a Ponderosa steak and my wife had the ribs, which she said were good but I got the impression that they weren't really. The kids, well, they had their own Goldfish crackers and some fruit and baloney we brought for them...we think they got the better deal.
