We were treated to a complementary upgrade to an executive suite on the top floor of the hotel. This room was the size of at least two standard rooms and had a wetbar with microwave, refrigerator and coffee service. The service in the hotel was most friendly and efficient. The concierge had much information and was very helpful with a fine dinner recommendation as well as arrangements for airport shuttle service. We are thrilled with the hotel and its service and would highly recommend it. Also, it is walking distance to Stampede Park and to the center of downtown Calgary with numerous shopping opportunities.

This restaurant is located in a historic building known as the Alberta Hotel Building in the center of downtown Calgary. The atmosphere is decidedly trendy, with high ceiling and comfortable decor, while retaining the historic nature of the 19th century building. The food is beautifully presented and very delicious. They feature meats, poultry, fish, and game. The service was very attentive and friendly.I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Clubhouse Restaurant

You must have an event ticket in the grandstand to dine at this restaurant. It is huge, seemingly accomodating a thousand or more diners at one time. They only offer a prime rib buffet, but with other entree selections including chicken and fish, as well as a variety of fresh vegetables and salads. The dessert selection is pletiful including pastries and fresh fruit. Given that this is a high volume operation, the food was delicious and reasonably priced.

If you can obtain clubhouse reserved seating for the evening events, then you can have a reserved table fore the restaurant. If not, then it is first come-first served, and there is quite a waiting line within 1-2 hours before showtime.
