The NC Aquarium is close and worth a trip. Definitely take a trip to the lighthouse. Morehead City is close and cute/quaint.

Quick Tips:

Amos Mosquito is the best restaurant in town!

Best Way To Get Around:

You definitely need a car to get around.
Mixed review. When we first arrived, the unit reeked of cigarette smoke. After we complained, the staff brought in some type of ionizer machine that took most, but not all, of the smell out, so the place was at least liveable. There was a nicely equipped kitchen. Our unit was fairly close to the beach, but some units were not so lucky.

Very bizarre check-out procedures. When you're ready to check out, you have to call the office, and someone comes out to inspect to make sure you stripped your linens and didn't steal any towels. They actually counted sheets and towels and glasses and utensils! It's something I've never seen before in 15 years of timesharing.
