Upon arrival at this resort we were immediately impressed with the beautiful layout of this resort. It looked so clean, well manicured yet inviting and homey. We had to drive across a spectacular golf course, in order to reach our town home. (We had rented two, to accommodate everyone for a family Christmas.) We were very pleased with the location of our condos. We had privacy and a spectacular view.

The condos were exceptionally clean and very spacious. The layout is a three level home. One enters in the middle level on which one bedroom with two double beds and a bathroom in located. A few steps up and we entered a living / dining room area with a fireplace and a vaulted ceiling. There were two sliding doors leading to a balcony with an incredible view of the mountains, golf course and the lake. The kitchen was spacious enough for us to cook a dinner for 10 without hassle. It was well equipped and left nothing to be desired.

Large glass windows that allowed us to feel like the setting was part of nature, surrounded the dining area. During our stay, deer would come and play right next to our condo, as we ate our meals. On the lower level was not only a laundry room, but a huge master bedroom with a king sized bed and a dream bathroom. The bathroom had double sinks and a glass shower area. Tucked in the corner, and with a privacy wall, was a large whirlpool tub surrounded by mirrors, allowing for an intimate soak or a candle light bath for two. The commode was situated to give privacy, even if a couple was using this grand bathroom together. The master bedroom featured a very large walk in closet, which allowed us to hide the children’s gifts till Christmas. The large sliding door leads to yet another large deck, with stairs all the way to the grounds.

The color scream and fine touches of these units were superb as well as elegant yet comfortable. Beautiful artwork on each floor gave these condos the final touch needed to make them feel like home. The unit was carpeted throughout with a wood floor at the entry and vinyl flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms. The lighting for each unit was set up to allow intimate and romantic settings as well as bright family game night style set ups. The outside of the units are also set up for comfort and even feature a small storage room near the front door. Even the parking lot allowed for some privacy and safety. Our children enjoyed their new bikes with a backdrop of mountains, lake and nature galore.

We cannot praise these accommodations more than this description of them. The Everitt Family highly recommends these condos for a family vacation at any time of the year.

Best Things About the Resort:
The best thing about this resort is its unsurpassed beauty.

Resort Experience:
Picture a serene little village that is nestled between majestic mountains. There are rolling fields among the little houses that dot the landscape. At the foot of the village there is a beautiful lake with a glassy surface that reflects the blue sky. As you look closer you see deer and groundhogs frolic along the little creeks that run down the mountains and in to the lake. Look a bit closer and you notice a world-class golf course that beckons you to come and tame it. There is a small beach with white sand and an interesting playground, which not only entertains but also challenges your children to creative games and play. Over to the side you notice tennis courts, a pier that leads out on to the lake. There is also an outdoor pool and an indoor pool and hot tub. Everyone is friendly and the weather is great. Beautiful sunrises and spectacular sunsets are and every day occurrence.

Could this be paradise? Well, maybe not. But it is what you will find at the Lake Lure Resort in NC. A friendly staff, beautiful, clean, well maintained golf course, pools, play ground, beach, mini-golf, tennis courts, game room, boat dock, club house, restaurant, and world class service. We spend our Christmas vacation 2003 at this resort. On Christmas Eve we attended a candle light service at the little chapel right outside this resort. The locals welcomed us as if we were old friends. We enjoyed a storybook family Christmas. (Even though it did not snow as we had hoped.) This resort was more then we expected and a place to which we hope to return again.

Attraction | "Snow Tubing"

While enjoying the indoor pool at this resort, the staff recommended that we enjoy a trip to the Moonshine Mountain Snow Tubing Park. The trip took us only 30 min (give or take a few depending on traffic). Boy howdy; we had more fun that it should be legal for a family to have. On the way in we stopped at the last convenience store prior to the park and purchased some Moonshine Mountain bottled water. Each bottle contained coupons for some dollars off the admission price. Upon arrival we could not believe just how safe this park is set up. A small house next to the snow tubing lanes offers hot chocolate and souvenirs as well as a nice fireplace to warm up. The slopes are set up with different levels for snow tubers. They even have a lift that will pull you back up the hill for your next run down. As we went with our children ages 6-17 this was the perfect place to go and have fun. The older ones made friends and formed huge trains to go down the hill. While the little ones and mommy enjoyed the sissy slope. We highly recommend this activity for its value, level of fun and family friendliness. Hey, you can even tour the Moonshine Mountain Mine, for a bit of extra fun.
