Cancun Honeymoon - 11 days of fun in the sun!

A May 2004 trip to Cancun by lynnleis

Cancun has the most beautiful white sand beaches and the most amazing of oceans... so clear and turquoise... Mesmerizing!!! Cancun itself is a great mix of crazy fun and/or peaceful relaxation. What do you prefer? There is so much to do... Everyone's needs will be fulfilled!

Swimming with the dolphins is a completely amazing experience. Shopping at the old markets is fun if you can stand the constant haggling!

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

You can take the buses that Palace resorts provide to the other Palace resorts for free. To take a taxi into Cancun from the resort it cost us US one-way. We often took the free buses into town and then paid for our taxi home when we felt like going back. The buses downtown cost us .60 per person each way. If you want to visit Aventura Spa Palace, you can schedule a spa session and they will transport you for free for the day.

Best Things Nearby:
Spa and Golf available right at the resort! About 1/2 hour drive to visit downtown Cancun. Far enough away to relax, but close enough to indulge if you choose!

Best Things About the Resort:
The two sides and great size of entire resort provide many opportunities and choices for things to do. You are also able to visit any of the other Palace Resorts to use their amentities and enjoy their dining experiences.

Resort Experience:
Amazing, large resort with many amentities and things to do right on site. Many dining options to choose from. Pools are amazing. The beach is a little murky due to a seaweed problem, but still peaceful and serene. The pools make up for it. The pools go on and on forever! The entire resort is so large that there are two separate sides with their own lobbies... Nizuc and Sunrise. You can ride buses back and forth between the sides and enjoy all the amentities of both. We stayed on the Nizuc side, which is the original side. The pools are amazing. Both sides are extremely nice. Sunrise being a bit fancier, probably because it is newer. We preferred staying on the Nizuc side because the atmosphere seemed to be more relaxed... the staff seemed more relaxed and friendlier. The option to visit both sides was great. We visited the Sunrise side often to watch shows, eat dinner, enjoy the pools, etc. We loved it all so much that we decided to become members.

Fun nightclub for dancing and drinking. They usually have go-go dancers. Prices range on which package you want. Remember, prices are negotiable! If you plan to drink a lot, it is probably best to go with all drinks included.

We swam with the dolphins in Isla Mujeres (Island of Women). It was the most amazing, serene adventure! Those creatures are absolutely amazing. We plan to do this again in the future. The royal swim is a bit more expensive, but truly worth the experience of a lifetime!!!
