An October 2001 trip to Monte Carlo by KM8

We visited the Grands Sejours and had a wonderful experience. It was walking distance to Monaco where even the grocery store was a treat. Our balcony overlooked unbelievable yachts. We visited the casino, castle, and churches, and Nice. There was a beautiful shoreline trail, and we enjoyed sitting in the cafes.

Overview

The restaurants were excellent even in late October. Heaters were used for outdoor dining. We were there for Halloween and found that it was celebrated in Monaco too.

Quick Tips:

We traveled down the Italian coast for a bit and found the remote villages very interesting. It was a bit like going back in time.

Best Way To Get Around:

Renting a car is a must. Walking is not safe on the winding roads in Monaco and day trips were very enjoyable.
