Best Things Nearby:There are so many places to go nearby, such as Vikingsholm on Emerald Bay, Squaw Valley, The Ponderosa Ranch, and Virginia City.Best Things About the Resort:The resort is right on the lake, which was the first place we went many mornings. They have one of the few if not the only hot air balloon that takes off and lands on a catamaran. We went out on the lake about 5:30am and some helium balloons were released to check wind direction. The hot air balloon was inflated and we went up about 7am. The experience was unbelievable. We went up to about 10,000 feet and spent about an hour in the air before returning to and landing on the catamaran. If you have a chance to do this, don't miss it!
