A May 2004 trip to Stowe by raskel-1
Quote: We went to Smuggler's Notch, which is located near Stowe. The accommodations were excellent. The only downfall was that the roads at the resort need to be paved! The indoor pool was being converted to an outdoor pool. There was lots of great shopping and fine dining in the area. It was definitely worth the trip and I would go back again.

The only real downfall were the dirt roads and that there was no permanent indoor pool. The indoor pool was being dismantled and converted to an outdoor pool. Full services were also not available until the following week.
The restaurant on site was very good.

The beer selection was excellent, but the beers were a little overpriced. Call it the ambience price. The restaurant features some well-known British ales, as well as some lesser known British ales. They also have an excellent U.S. micro-brew selection.
The atmosphere is very British and there are pictures of the royal family on the walls. I enjoyed the atmosphere. If only my wife's steak had been fork-cutting tender. . .
