This restaurant was a gem tucked behind the pine trees on the way to Harbour Town. It's definitely off the beaten path. I think we took a wrong turn and found it. It was an old house, so it is small and intimate.

Soft jazz music playing, dimmed lighting, and an excellent wine list made us appreciate our only kid-free night out during our week stay. The staff was very friendly and most helpful in choosing our appetizer (the fruit and cheese plate is the best)and main course. We would definitely go there again if provided the opportunity. It's not exactly kid-friendly.

Story/Tip

We are owners at Waterside and have to say that our accommodations were wonderful. The only downfall was it was a bit of a trek to the beach unless you wanted to drive and hope you were lucky enough to find a parking spot.

The restaurants available for every palate and occasion are too numerable to even get into. This was my fifth trip to Hilton Head since 1989 and it has seriously become a more family-friendly destination.

We had four children five years and under on this trip and went to Harbor Town's playground on one of the days that was too cool for the pool. In March it was too cool for a lot of the activities like dolphin tours, the beach, the pool, parasailing, etc. My husband golfed plenty and I shopped at the great outlet malls.

The weather got better each day and our departure day was so beautiful that we opted to stay an extra day and was able to book a room at the Holiday Inn Express next door for $79 with a heated pool and free continental breakfast. That allowed us to enjoy a family day at the beach and a fine meal out at the Kingfisher.
