Overview

Quote:
Whitewater rafting: We bought our one-day package for rafting at a tourist office on the main street in Kemer and it was quite inexpensive. A tour bus picked us up in the morning in front of our hotel and took us east of Antalya for about 1.5 hours into the mountains. The water was cold but refreshing, since it was extremely hot, and we stopped halfway down the river for lunch. At the end of the day the bus took us back to Antalya. It's a good way to see the countryside and meet other travellers. Quick Tips: It gets extremely hot in the summer, sometimes up to 45-50 degrees Celsius. Drink lots of water because it's also very, very humid. Bottled water (su) can be bought anywhere and is...Read More

China Garden

Restaurant

Probably the best Asian food in town just east of the Sheraton Hotel with an open air atmosphere overlooking the Mediterranean. It is a must for anyone staying in Antalya on the east side of town.

Just west of downtown Antalya about a 5 minute cab ride. Great steak and pasta with good service. You can tell the taxi driver and he'll know how to get there.

Ancient City of Termessos

Attraction | "Termessos"

An ancient lost city up in the mountains which is very well preserved. It is a long hike from the parking lot to the city and is all uphill, but is well worth it.

Boat Rides

Attraction

At the Antalya harbour by the old city, boats can take you out east of town to see a waterfall and then back again. It's a nice way to stay cool and get a tan.

Just west of Kemer is the lost city of Olympos, surrounded by forest situated quite close to the Mediterranean. It is a nice walk through the ruins down to the water where there is a nice beach.

About 60km west of Antalya is the town of Kemer, which makes for a nice day trip to browse in the downtown outdoor market. There are also some nice restaurants on the main street in Kemer with an open-air atmosphere and candlelight with fresh seafood and great service.

At the Deneman Hotel down the bottom of the cliff is a dive centre, which is quite popular. I personally didn't go diving, but know quite a few people who did and enjoyed the diving there.
