This was our first trip to Branson. We will be going back. We would really like to take our kids next time. We were surprised with all the hills and beautiful sights.

Best Things Nearby:
All the shows. Close to everything, but not right in the middle of all the traffic.

Best Things About the Resort:
It's quiet. The rooms are large and well furnished. The front desk does a great job helping you get tickets to any show you want, always great seats.

Resort Experience:
We stayed at the Cedar Ridge Resort the first week of May in a two-bedroom lockout. Basically, we were happy with the resort. There were a few minor things we found odd. There are two doors leading into the master bedroom, one from the living room and one from the bathroom. The only light switch was on the wall by the bathroom. You couldn’t turn on the light if you came in from the living room. Just a small thing. We had a second floor room with a view of the fountain. It looked just like the picture in the RCI catalog. The resort was very easy to find. Check-in was very quick. They have a bellhop to show you to your room and the help with luggage. Very nice. There is a huge dining room when you first walk in. The table seats eight. Everything was clean and well stocked. We did find the layout of the living room to be odd. The room is so large that, without moving chairs around, conversation was difficult. The couch was not very comfortable.

We did have a problem with the air-conditioning that never did get fixed. After two days of calling to have someone come to fix it, they offered to move us to another unit on Friday, but we were leaving on Saturday morning. The lock-off side had air that worked, so we just left that door open and used a fan. Other than that, the resort was perfect. The pool was not open when we were there, but looked to be in good shape and had a lot of lounge chairs around it.

All in all, we would go back here. We purchased tickets for several shows from the main desk and we had great seats for all of them. The show they did on Monday night at the resort was great. The meal is now $6 per person and consisted of lettuce salads, pasta salads, rolls, boiled potatoes, green beans, meatloaf, and desert. The entertainment was impressive and we ended going to a couple more shows because of the entertainers being at the resort.

They have a nature trail at the resort. Unless you hike a lot, it was pretty intense. My husband does a lot of hiking, and he was leery of me going. I did, but it was not easy. This is not an easy stroll, but up and down hills.

I would rate this resort an 8, only because of the air-conditioning problem.

B T Bones

Restaurant

We were told this was a great place for steaks and it was! They were melt-in-your-mouth good!

The only thing we found distracting was the live entertainment -- it was very good, but very loud, and we had a hard time talking to each other from across the table! The wait staff left a little to be desired also. We didn't go back.

Outback Steakhouse

Restaurant

This is not one of the chain Outbacks. I had read a lot about this place and was looking forward to going. What a disappointment!! The service was fast, but the steaks were nothing to brag about. We felt like we were in a fast food steakhouse. It was not really the way we wanted to spend our last night in Branson. We found the prices rather high for the amount of food and quality. We would not bother going to again.

We took a tour on one of the rainy days we were in Branson -- very impressive. We really enjoyed the gentleman that did the tours. We bought several bottles home with us. There was not a lot of walking and the tour only takes about 45 minutes.

Yakov Smirnoff

Activity

This is probably the best show we saw while in Branson. He is one of the best entertainers around. By the end of his show, the audience had laughed and cried. We were very impressed with his love of this country. Everyone should see this show!
