We stayed a a Fantastic B & B..one which subsequent B & B's have all been measured but haven't come close. We ate in the Italian restaurant and enjoyed looking in the shops in this little main street all of a block long. Go to occidental.org on the www and you'll get a list of what's available.

Quick Tips:

It's a great get away and has a spa nearby called Osmosis..2 or 3 wonderful restaurants and cute hotels. We however recommend highly the Inn at Occidental for the B & B.

Best Way To Get Around:

car is necessary. I believe Bodega Bay is only 5 or 10 miles away...

Inn at OccidentalBest of IgoUgo

Hotel | "The Inn at Occidental"

The accommodations at this B & B were so impeccably clean and beautiful. It was featherbeds and fresh linen and flowers and clean and warm and cozy. There was a fireplace with wood burning. Jack was the innkeeper at the time and he had a wonderful personality. We have great memories of this place. It was a scene out of Sunset or Martha Stewart combined with the food of BonAppetit and a romantic atmosphere. In fact when we stayed it was called Heart's Desire Inn but changed about a year later to The Inn at Occidental. They have a website too. It's rated **** by AAA.

Restaurant | "Negri's Restaurant....Italian traditional food"

This is an old fashioned Italian Restaurant. Antipasto and the works. If I'm not mistaken it's got red checkered tablecloths. It's down to earth and reasonable and has a nice family atmosphere. It's an institution.

Bodega BayBest of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

Bodega Bay is a lot of fun to visit. The Tides Restaurant is known for its clam chowder and fish. Of course it was the scene of the Alfred Hitchcock's Birds movie. The ocean is something you don't get tired of. It's a 5 minute ride from Occidental.

The Osmosis SpaBest of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

The Osmosis spa was just down the road. It's known for the mud baths and full body massages and everything else a spa has. It looked like a very classy place. I didn't have the chance to try it out however.
