Las Vegas week

A March 2004 trip to Las Vegas by AnnemarieP

I traded my timeshare for a beautiful condo right off the strip. It couldn't have been more convenient and comfortable.

Overview

Anything and everything in this city that never sleeps. We gambled a little, we visited the major hotels, we sunned by the pool, we took a helicopter ride over the Hoover Dam, took a day trip to AZ and Laughlin, NV, explored Red Rock Canyon right outside the city, took in several shows and a dinner theater, and even found a couple of great scrapbooking stores!

Quick Tips:

Personally, I'd say that if you want to see the Grand Canyon, you should spend the extra money and do it by helicopter. You can go by bus, but you end up spending 8 hours on the bus and about 40 minutes at the Canyon.

Best Way To Get Around:

I have bad knees, so I can't do a lot of walking, but if you can, everything is close by. They have now finished the monorail, so that is great, as well as the trolley that will take you up and down the Strip. We rented a car, and driving in the city was very easy and was great for taking day trips outside the city, which we enjoyed immensely.
Best Things Nearby:
It was a short walk through the adjoining pool areas to get to the Flamingo. Caesar's Palace was across the street and many other major hotels were within walking distance. It was centrally located on The Strip, so everything was nearby. In addition, they were just finishing up the monorail and there is a stop right outside the door to the resort!

Best Things About the Resort:
The staff was welcoming and helpful. The condo itself was lovely. We had a jacuzzi tub in the master bath. The pool and hot tub was out the back door, and it adjoined the pool at the Flamingo, which we could also use. We rented a car for the week because we wanted to take some day trips outside the city, and a free parking garage was located next door.

Resort Experience:
The resort was newly renovated and very comfortable. The staff welcomed us upon arrival and continued to be friendly and helpful throughout the week. They even called us after the first day to be sure everything was okay and see if we needed anything!

Attraction

The show was fantastic and I would recommend it highly. It was appropriate for families as well as adults. Located in the Treasure Island resort, it was conveniently located to our timeshare. There were no bad seats and very comfortable.
