My father grew up in the beautiful island town of Sepurine, Croatia. This was my first visit, and he and I traveled together. Besides the palm trees, tropical fruit trees, and crystal clear waters, I met relatives and learned first hand about local and family history.

Although less than a mile off the Croatian coast, this was truly a step back in time. Best things to do include walking around the island, sleeping late, buying fresh bread early in the morning at the general store, swimming, boating, fishing, day trips to the mainland, eating at the harbor cafe or 'the' restaurant, and sitting by the water's edge to watch the sun set over the Adriatic each night. See my web site at www.bigfoot.com/~sepurine for more information.

Quick Tips:

You'll reach Sepurine by flying in to Split, the capital city of Dalmatia. From there, take a bus to Sibenik, and then the passenger ferry to Sepurine.

Best Way To Get Around:

No cars are permitted on the island, so walking is the only way to get around. This is not a problem, as the island is small (2 miles long by 3/4 mile wide) and has just 2 towns.

Ivo is a fisherman who runs this, the only restaurant in town, with his family. The setting is spectacular, with a great outdoor dining area.
