Lovely Malta

A September 2004 trip to Qawra by liiabelle

Quote: We arrived in a very hot Malta (with high temperatures of 42 degrees Centigrade for the first 10 days), found our hire car, and made our way to Sunny Coast resort. What a disappointment! It was dirty, dingy, and the worst timeshare we have ever been to. Going to the beach was on our list of things we wanted to do, but there was not one.

Overview

Quote:
Sghtseeing and lots of it. Valletta's Sunday market is a must if you like markets. The churches. Gozo. The inland sea. The Malta experience and the war museum. The fiestas in the villages. Golden Beach for a good swim. Melliaha Beach for the children -- well worth a visit. The whole island is beautiful.

Story/Tip

Quote:
We ate in many different restaurants and bars and paid from very little to a lot, but the food was all of good quality and there was very good service and very friendly staff.

The leisure club attached to the Sunny Coast Resort was ok, but needed refurbishment as some sun beds were broken and tiles around the pool were broken and not mended during our stay.

The snack bar at the leisure centre was good with good food and good prices, but everything came with "chips".

The only other problem was that the local children came into the pool and caused problems, but no staff member said anything to them.
