Hotel

Dom Pedro Hotel
Beautiful, luxury hotel. Appetizing meals served in the hotel restaurant. Staff was very helpful in providing directions and suggestions. We checked out on the morning President Clinton arrived to stay there. If it's good enough for the President of the United States, I would say that is a pretty awesome recommendation.

Restaurant

This is obviously a favorite for locals. The place was packed. Their specialties are pastries filled with meat and cheeses and pastries with a custard filling.

Attraction

Castelo Sao Jorge from Elevador
The fabulous Elevador do Carmo was built in 1898-1901 in Neo-Gothic Syle. Take the elevator to the top for an open-air bar and unbelievable views of the Rossio, Castelo de Sao Jorge, and Igreja d. Carmo ruins.

Attraction | "Castelo Sao Jorge"

Flowered Windowsill
Castelo de Sao Jorge is named in honour of dragon-killing St. George, Portugal's Patron Saint. Views of the Baixa and Alfama are fabulous. After seeing the Castle, visit Se Patriarchal Cathedral and walk through the Alfama, the oldest part of Lisbon.

TimpanasBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Timpana's
Timpanas is a typical Fado bar in the narrow backstreets of Lisbon. Shows start late, usually 9:30-10:00 p.m. Fado is a soulful sounding folk music with traditional dance. If you haven't experienced Fado, you haven't experienced Portugal.
