Extended Weekend Freeport

An April 2004 trip to Freeport by rdab

We stayed at the Peregrine Townhouse Condominiums right on the beach. There were no crowds on the beach and it was pretty quiet. We often sat on the balcony overlooking the beach at night, listening to the waves hitting the beach.

Walk on the beach with few people in your way. Go surf fishing and relax!

Quick Tips:

Buy your groceries before you get there because the closest grocery store is in Lake Jackson about 20 miles away.

Best Way To Get Around:

You have to have a car to get around because there isn't much around the resort, which sometimes makes it nice -- no crowds!

Best Things Nearby:
The beach.

Best Things About the Resort:
Friendly staff. The beach was footsteps from our room.

Resort Experience:
The resort is a little ways from just about everything, so if you want somewhat privacy with very little crowds, this place is for you. The unit we stayed in looked like it was well taken care of with fairly new paint and new appliances.

But you do have to drink bottled water since the water is high in iron and it tastes like it too. Luckily they give you bottled water so you don't have to drink the tap water. It takes a little to get used to when the reddish brown tint in the water when our kids took a bath. Other than that, we had a good time there.
